When I think about what you do, one of the things that comes to mind is your uncanny knack for writing in the most accessible manner I've ever read in books, mail, webs, whatever. I'm not sure whether you're totally aware of just how impressive it is, especially in a business world full of God-awful business English. That level of understandable, consistent communication is a rare thing in my experience...so what you do from that point of view is write in a manner that is almost like empathy on a page...have you seen the new Dr Who? In it he carries a piece of "telepathic paper" around with him which is totally blank, but when he shows it to someone, they see whatever the Dr wants them to see or whatever they need to see...I think your books are a bit like that, in that a reader reads it as if it's been written for them and all other readers have an equivalent experience. What would I call that...personal touch on a page?, like having a chat down the pub on a page? Something like that!
Another thing that occurs to me when I think about what you do is simply your insight when coaching. On the last day up the mountain, I had been mulling over the possibilities of combining project management with coaching in my mind...and almost on cue, you described Jason, his experiences, his approach and ended up at the idea of Project Coach. I was speechless (not literally as I'm sure you'll remember) as I'd pretty much come to a similar outcome in my mind but not actually said anything that specific...or maybe I had and you have the listening skills to identify it. Either way, I was touched by the guiding hand of your coaching, making connections and links that meant something deep and meaningful to me. So I would say that you are the bridge, the conduit, the medium if you will that allows others to make their own connections...from my own experience it's as if my thoughts were in a vacuum and you provided the "matter" for them to travel and connect and make links and find new paths.
Finally, I once mentioned to you about authentic consultants giving me some hope...and I think you are the epitome of authentic. There is a very real and genuine sense that you care and through that, it is easy to trust you.
